What's going on everybody, I hope this finds you striving and thriving and doing absolutely amazing. Now, have you ever woken up, and you just don't have it, you go through your morning routine. And as hard as you try, you're still feeling down in the dumps, and you just can't shake. There's one important thing that I want you to remember, one thing that you can do, that will truly have a positive impact on your day. My name is Brian Martin, I'm a second grade teacher and host of the teaching champions podcast. And this past week, I had one of those days, it was nothing in particular, that happened that caused me to feel negative, it was just one of those days. And even recognizing my mood, and trying my best to shake it off, I just couldn't. And you fast forward a little bit, I get to school, we start the day, my champions roll into the room, and they were just bringing the energy. And I started feeding off of it. And about 20 minutes into the day, the students were working on an activity. And I stopped everyone right there. I had them look up at me, and I thank them. I explained to them about how I had begin the day just feeling a little bit down. But because of the laughter, because of the joy that they brought, they made me feel so much better. And we talked about the people that we surround ourselves with, because you know, you know the people who just always seem to pick you up with their good energy, those people who just by being around them, they make you feel a little bit better. And it's important that we pay attention to this, and that we're deliberate in the rooms that we enter, that we're deliberate about the energy that we surround ourselves with. Because even for the most positive person out there, there's going to be moments in you're going to need that little pick me up. So seek out those uplifters those people who make you feel better, who lift you up, who make that day, a little brighter. And be sure to let them know your gratitude for them as well. And also be that person who others can lean on to. And I was reminded of that earlier this week. The football playoffs are here and it was wildcard weekend. And my buddy, he's a huge Dallas Cowboys fan. And I am not. And we take great pleasure in reverting back to our teenage selves. And we always throw out a little trash talk to one another during the season. And I threw out a few minor jabs his way this weekend just to get him going. And he gave a little back. But then he sent a text and instead, to be honest, he really didn't care about the game at all for the first time and forever. He said that earlier that day, he had to put his dog to sleep. And I could feel his hurt and the text messages that he sent. And my heart went out to him. And later that evening, it just it made me think it was just a reminder that we truly don't know what others are going through. And there's a lot of people out there who may not be putting their hurt their struggles on social media, or who don't reach out and say they're having a tough day. So what if we made it a point to give those people that we pass in the hallways. A warm greeting? What if we take time to ask someone about their weekend? What if we send a text to our friends about a funny memory or something that you have in common? That one tax that one call that one greedy that just might be the one thing that someone needs to get through their day. So as we finish up the week, find those people who give you some of that good energy and be that one who reaches out. Be That One who shares some good energy with others as well. Because you never know who needs it. We've been blessed with another sunrise. Have an awesome day.
