Mid Week Pick Me Up: Take It One Moment at a Time

Mid Week Pick Me Up: Take It One Moment at a Time

This mini episode is a reminder to take our days in one moment at a time.

What's going on everybody, I hope this finds you striving and thriving and doing absolutely amazing. The other day, I was celebrating a friend's birthday. And I asked her for a little bit of birthday wisdom. And with a little laugh, she said, take it one moment at a time. And there was a lot within that laugh. But after she said it, it really stuck with me. Take it one moment at a time. Because whether we're in our classroom, or in our own personal lives, being present, being in that moment, is key. The day it has so many amazing moments, they're gonna leave you feeling filled with joy, they're going to leave you feeling fulfilled. There's going to be times when the lessons that you're teaching are on point, and everything is clicking, there's going to be moments, when your classroom is filled with laughter. There's going to be times when it's just you, and a student. And you're sitting there, and you're talking. And it has nothing to do with school. Those are special moments. The day is also going to come with moments that are not so enjoyable. Those moments that cause the blood pressure to rise that are stress filled, and so draining, take those a moment at a time. If a lesson falls short, it doesn't mean that the next lesson has to fall short. If a student's having a rough moment, it doesn't mean that their whole day has to be tough. If you have a moment, that you're not your best self, that doesn't mean that that version of you is going to be like that for the entire day. We're humans, our day is spent investing and helping other humans. And with that comes moments. So remind yourself to breathe, to focus on the things that you can control, to show yourself grace, and to keep moving forward. And also, don't be so consumed with the future. And everything that you need to do that you don't embrace the moments that were given today. Because those moments, they're gifts that have been given to you. And the great Oprah Winfrey once said, breathe. Let go and remind yourself that this very moment is the only one you know you have for sure. Go out and take it one moment at a time today, my friends. We've been blessed with another sunrise. Have an awesome day.
