Midweek Pick Me Up: Days are Long and Weeks are Fast

As my students will be celebrating the 100th day of school this episode is about how fast time goes and making the most of the moments that we have in our classroom.
What's going on everybody, I hope this finds you striving and thriving in doing absolutely amazing. So I was sitting around with my class today. And it was the 99th day of school for us. And we were sitting there, and we were talking about how tomorrow is gonna be the 100th day of school, my students and myself, we all agreed, it's unbelievable, that we will have been together for 100 days. And they talked about how it seems like just yesterday, we got to school that we became a class together. And that's the funny thing about time. That days are long, but weeks are so fast. And I'm sure each and every single one of us has had moments this year. But there's been some amazing moments too. And the thing is, time isn't gonna slow down, time's gonna keep moving in the next 80 days, it's gonna fly by. And sometimes, we can get so focused on the academics what we need to cover in the next 80 days that we forget to stop. And we forget to look back and see how far our champions have come over the past 100 days. It's pretty amazing when you step back, and you look at that. And I will be lying. If I said that I wasn't counting down the days until spring break. And then when we come back from spring break, there's the countdown to the end of the school year. But there's so much in between. There's so many amazing moments that are to be had. So as we move forward, don't rush time, embrace the academic process. cherish the moments cherish the relationships, chairs, the conversations that we get to have the aha moments that we get to experience, the heart, the hearts that you get to have the joy that's there to be had in those small moments. And that laughter that fills up the classroom. At the beginning of the school year, how many of you look back and say how much you miss your students from the year before. So remember, chairs this time, because days are long, but weeks are fast. And I just want to leave you with something that I heard from Dabo Swinney, he's the head coach of the Clemson football team. And he was in an interview one time and he was saying that, at the end of practice, often he'll gather his players up, and he tries to reinforce how precious this present moment is how we need to make the most of it. So he says to him, I'm going to do what I can while I can. So when I can't, I won't wish I should have when I could have some important message, embrace this moment, embrace and cherish what we have today. And we've been blessed with another sunrise my friends will be having an awesome day.
