What's going on everybody, I hope they're signed you striving and thriving and doing absolutely amazing. As we roll on the 2022, I thought it would be neat to add on to the podcast a little bit. And you know, our work week is long the school year is a marathon. And we could all use a little pick me up every once, I'm going to be coming out with a little mini episode, just to spark a little joy, maybe bring a little smile, or just that little pick me up to get us through the rest of the week. And this week, I want to talk about being in the moment being where your feet are at. And my second graders, they can do an amazing job at this. It doesn't matter how the morning went, if we have a celebration in the afternoon, and when we say celebration in second grade, usually, that is something that is pretty small, it might involve some cupcakes, a drink, a song that we can all dance to, or maybe a little game in the kids love this. And often, some kids will come up and they'll say this is the best day ever. And it was only something small. And it was because they got lost in that moment. They found joy in the moment. And they were just loving that singular moment. And as adults, sometimes we lose out on that. We're carrying yesterday's baggage, all those things that we can't change all those things that we need to do. They're always on our mind that to do lists, that number seems done, projects that we need to get done standards that we need to meet material that we need to cover. And what happens is sometimes we get focused on so many different things that we miss out. And that right here, and that right now. We miss out on fully enjoying and embracing those silly moments. Sometimes we're so focused on the future, then we miss out on those aha moments. We miss out on those moments where we connect, where we strengthen those bonds with our students, when we have those great conversations when we share those laughs when we connect. And it's important that we make it a priority. To be where our feet are at. To make it a priority, to enjoy those little moments to allow us to enjoy those little moments. Because that's what life is made up of is those small moments. So take some time today. And allow yourself to be in the moment. Allow yourself to get lost in the laughter with your class. Allow yourself to sit down and fully enjoy a conversation with your students or with your colleagues. Oprah Winfrey once said, breathe. Let go and remind yourself this very moment is the only one you know you have for sure. embrace those moments, my friends. We've been blessed with another sunrise. Let's make it a great day.
