Dr. Julie Schmidt Hasson is a researcher, author, and speaker who helps educators stay longer, grow stronger, and make a bigger impact. Julie is a professor in Leadership and Educational Studies at Appalachian State University. When she's not teaching graduate students, she is conducting research and working with school districts around the country. Julie is also the founder of the Chalk and Chances project, a vehicle for celebrating and elevating teachers. Her latest book, Safe, Seen, and Stretched in the Classroom: The Remarkable Ways Teachers Shape Students' Lives, chronicles her extensive research on teacher impact.
