Episode 2.25 with Allyson Apsey: Leading the Whole Teacher

Allyson Apsey is an educational leader focused on creating need-satisfying school environments for students and staff where they feel seen and valued. She has taught grades three through eight and has been a principal for all levels K-12. Recognizing the significant impact trauma has had on many of our students, staff and families, Allyson became a Certified Trauma Practitioner in Education. The support students affected by trauma need are beneficial to all students because they are grounded in a foundational core of strong, positive relationships based on trust. Allyson writes on a blog called “Serendipity in Education” and is the best-selling author of several books, including her newest book called Leading the Whole Teacher and her first book, The Path to Serendipity. She has been published in Principal Magazine and was featured in a TedX Talk called “Serendipity is Everywhere”.
