Who are the 5 people closest to you? Who are the people closest to your students? I think we’ve got to be conscious of the culture you are setting in your classroom and the way you live your life. You can surround yourself with people who have a crab mentality. When one crab tries to escape the barrel the rest pull her back down for many different reasons. Other people are surrounded by folks with a shark mentality. Did you know a shark can’t swim backward? In fact, if it stopped moving forward it would die. I know that’s extreme but that’s how important the people you surround your self with are. Let me rephrase the first question. Who are the top 5 quality people in your life? Does your list change?
