Dr. Ali Pfleging is a fellow self efficacy expert. She is an incredible high school English teacher, college professor, and award winning researcher. Her research examines the the influence of self efficacy in among High School teachers. In her work, she focuses on resilience, emotional intelligence, and self-efficacy.
In this episode, we discuss her work and the ASCD article she co-authored titled "Efficacy in the Face of Adversity."
We discuss research about the redefinition of resiliency in the face of adversity. Dr. Pfleging coined the term, “crisis efficacy” as part of a latent variable derived for research. This conversation takes resilience to a deep level. The impact of teacher shortages and the pandemic related mental health issues are discussed in an insightful way.
