The Resistance Solution with Becca Silver
When someone resists change, what are they really trying to tell us?
In this episode of The Language of Behavior, Josh is joined by educator, coach, author, and founder of The Whole Educator, Becca Silver. Together, they explore why resistance is not simply someone being difficult. It is often a signal that a need is not being met.
Becca shares the framework behind her book, The Resistance Solution, including five mindsets that support meaningful change, value, belonging, success, growth, and ownership. She explains the difference between compliance, buy in, and true ownership, and why leaders need to get curious about what is underneath the pushback instead of trying to force change.
The conversation also explores the role belonging plays in mental wellness, why isolation can feel painful, and how reflective listening can help us better understand the people around us. Josh and Becca remind listeners that complaints and resistance can be valuable feedback when we are willing to pause, listen, and ask better questions.
